46 Follower(s)

The Benny Moré Giant Band was created in 1952, which had its first appearance on the Cascabeles Candado program of the CMQ radio station.

The band was made up of more than 40 musicians and it should be noted that, although large, it had a unique melodic organization, in addition to the talent of knowing how to improvise when its director Benny Moré decided. Between 1954 and 1955 the Giant Band became immensely popular. In later years he toured Venezuela, Jamaica, Haiti, Colombia, Panama, Mexico and the United States, where he performed at the Oscar ceremony.

While in Havana he performed in the most famous dance halls, such as La Tropical and La Sierra.
