Fernando Celada

Fernando Celada Miranda, Mexican poet, playwright and journalist; was born in 1872 in Xochimilco. He was a fighter who supported the Mexican proletariat, exerted pressure with journalism, becoming considered "The singer of the proletariat."

He collaborated in the newspapers Jalisco Nuevo, Bandera Roja, Redención and others. Because of his ideas, he was the object of persecution and censure. Among the books he wrote we can mention: Epic songs to Juárez, Hammers and anvils, Bronzes, Hymns of the hammers, for the nation's workers. He is remembered for his poem The Falling Leaves.

He died on July 7, 1929 in Mexico City.
