Lazaro Valdes. Cuban musician, director, composer, pianist and keyboardist who stands out with his dance group, Bamboleo.

His musical training began within the family, entering the Saumel Conservatory at the age of 12 to study violin, piano and percussion as supplementary instruments. At the age of 16 he began his first works with the Cuban Projection group as a pianist. Later he goes on to work with Bobby Carcassés; where he made the first international tour to Yemen, Africa. At that time, already as a jazz player, he participated in several jazz events and began teaching at the Enia as a piano teacher. From here he integrates as a pianist with Héctor Téllez, with whom he did a lot of work nationally.

In 1988 he began to work with Amaury Pérez Vidal, making a long tour throughout Mexico with her. After that he joined the Pachito Alonso group as a keyboardist and percussionist. With this group he visited: Chile, Venezuela, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and France.

In 1994 he started a project called Las Mulatas del Fuego, with which he is not satisfied. Consequently on February 14, 1995 he decides to found Bamboleo; with the aim of venturing into different genres such as salsa, son, Afro-Cuban music, Latin jazz, boleros and ballads. That same year this orchestra obtained the category of Revelation Orchestra in the annual Mi Salsa program, and was widely accepted in the most important places of the moment: Palacio de La Salsa, Salón Rosado de la Tropical, Casa de la Música and others; which helped him to be selected to represent Cuba at the 15th Plaza 95 Latin Jazz Festival, where Bamboleo also obtained the title of Revelation Orchestra of the Year.

Bamboleo has been the group that has brought together all their musical concerns, rapidly climbing to national and international popularity. He has won an American Grammy in the 45th edition of that event.

He has made 5 albums of Tropical Music and 2 of Jazz. One of them, the CD “Ya no hayneces” has become one of the most popular Cuban music of these times.

He made a DVD together with Manolito Simonet with the Bis-Music agency.
